SUMMARY:MCAC 7th Annual Run for the Arts — 5K Fun Run & Walk
DESCRIPTION:Run\, walk\, and support the arts in Southern Maryland. Mattawoman Creek Art Center’s Halloween fundraiser welcomes runners and walkers of all ages for a 5K through the natural surroundings of Smallwood State Park. \nA fun run for the whole community\nMost of the course follows paved surfaces and includes a long footbridge over the park’s wetlands. Strollers are welcome behind the runners\, and people-friendly dogs may join on a leash. Chip timing will not be used—this is a fun run and walk. \n\n\n🏃\nPlan your morning\n\n8:30–9:45 AM: Same-day registration and packet pickup\n9:45–9:55 AM: Runner warm-up\n10:00 AM: 5K run begins\n10:10 AM: 5K walk begins\n12:00–12:30 PM: Awards presentation\n\n\n\n🎃\nHalloween fun and awards\n\n$100 cash prizes for the top female and male finishers\nCostume prizes for adults and youth\nPrizes for the best-dressed pup and best-dressed pair\nA pumpkin scavenger hunt\n\n\n\nKnow before you go\nThe event’s rain date is Sunday\, November 1. Registration fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable\, including if the race is canceled.
